Most lamps light for a few seconds when you power the car on. That check is not a fault by itself. This page does not replace the owner’s manual for your model year and market.
What it means
The green EV lamp is a status on the plug-in Song Plus DM-i and Seal U DM-i, not a fault. It means the car is moving on the traction battery with the engine stopped. It goes out when the engine starts: the battery is low, you ask for more power, the cabin heater needs the engine, or you select a hybrid mode. The battery-only Song Plus EV and Seal U EV do not show this lamp, because they have no engine to stop. Markets that badge the plug-in as Sealion 6 use the same EV lamp. It is a different symbol from the green READY lamp, which only says the car can drive.
What to do
An EV lamp that matches electric driving does not need a workshop. If you want the engine to stay off, ease the accelerator and keep charge in the traction battery. If the engine runs all the time and this lamp never appears on a plug-in, with a warm battery and a gentle pedal, have the hybrid system checked.

Common questions
- EV is on. Does the fuel gauge still matter?
- The engine is stopped for now. The plug-in still needs fuel in the tank for when the engine starts. A low-fuel lamp is a separate warning.
- My car is a battery-only Seal U and I cannot find this lamp.
- That car has no EV-mode lamp. READY is the ready-to-drive symbol. The green EV lamp belongs to the plug-in hybrid.
