Most lamps light for a few seconds when you power the car on. That check is not a fault by itself. This page does not replace the owner’s manual for your model year and market.
What it means
This amber pump is the low-fuel warning on the plug-in Song Plus DM-i and Seal U DM-i, and on the same plug-in when a market badges it Sealion 6. The car can feel like an EV on short trips, but the engine needs fuel to generate electricity and to drive in hybrid mode. The battery-only Song Plus EV and Seal U EV have no fuel tank and do not show this lamp. Do not add fuel to a battery-only car.
What to do
On a plug-in, refuel when the lamp comes on. An empty tank can cut the power the hybrid system will deliver even when the battery gauge is not at zero. On a battery-only car, read the traction-battery gauge and the limited-power lamp instead.

Common questions
- The battery still shows charge. Can I ignore the pump lamp?
- On the plug-in, no. The engine is the backup generator. A dry tank leaves you with less of that backup. Charge in the battery does not replace fuel.
- Which cars do not have this lamp?
- The battery-only Song Plus EV and Seal U EV. They have a traction battery and no fuel gauge.
