Most lamps light for a few seconds when you power the car on. That check is not a fault by itself. This page does not replace the owner’s manual for your model year and market.

What it means

The green READY lamp means the Seal is powered up and will respond once you select a gear. Export Seal manuals use READY on both the rear-drive car and the dual-motor car. There is not a second ready lamp for the front motor. The Atto 3 guide calls this kind of state OK. READY comes on after you press the brake and the power button, with a valid key in the car and the gear in P or N. The car should not creep until you select D or R. A connected charge plug blocks this state. If a collision or a serious fault shuts the drive down, READY goes out.

What to do

Wait for READY before you select a gear. Confirm the parking-brake lamp has gone out before you move. If READY never appears, check that the key is in the cabin, not in the boot or a cup holder, and that the charge plug is disconnected. Rear-drive and dual-motor Seals use the same check.

Common questions

I was looking for an OK lamp. Is READY the same state?
READY is the ready-to-drive label in these export manuals. The Atto 3 guide uses OK for that same kind of state. Either word means the drive will respond once you select a gear.
READY is on and the car will not move.
Check that the gear is in D or R, that a charge plug is not connected, and that the parking-brake lamp has gone out. A power or brake warning on the cluster explains a refusal to move.
